Literarily Inspired Fashion Shoot Featured in City Living Magazine

Yup, weddings are my first love, but I also occasionally shoot fashion. In fact it’s my fashion work that most heavily influences my Modern Intimates boudoir photography sessions. You can get a taste of the fashion side of my photography in the current issue City Living Magazine.

The article is the consummation of Cambridge writer Rachel Worrall’s vision for a project that combined her love of both fashion and literature. She enlisted four local designers to create couture dresses inspired by author Edith Wharton (best known for her book The Age of Innocence). Rachel then modeled the designers’ work in Wharton’s magnificent Gatsbyesque home, The Mount. The designers who participated were Kelsey Bacon at Bedagi Fashions, Barbara Poole at B-Felt and Julia Ebel and Meredith Ionelli both of Celtic Dragon Dress Designs.

As you hopefully have seen over the last couple of posts, the look I’m going for is very different from the cliches that might come to mind when you think about boudoir photography. I don’t know that I can exactly describe my look, but (hopefully) it’s hip, sexy and commercial. Let me know what you think.

If you’ve been following my facebook pages and other sites, you’ve probably seen that I’ve been shooting boudoir for the past year. I’ve been keeping it kind of quiet waiting to make a big splash with my new boudoir Web site. I guess I just forgot how long it takes to get a new site up and running.
