My cousin Angela and her fiance Jim invited me to attend their recent wedding and asked me to take some photos too. The were married at the Squantum Association which overlooks Narragansett Bay in East Providence Rhode Island.
One of my favorite elements of their ceremony was the Irish Blessing Stone. In this tradition, each of the guests makes a wish for the couple on a stone and during the ceremony everyone comes up and puts their stone in a bowl. It’s a grat way to personally involve everyone at the wedding.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, we all gathered outside to watch Angela and Jim fire the civil war era cannon. (They thoughtfully provided earplugs!)
Larry Kravitz was the primary photographer, and he did a bang up job. I was especially impressed with how he coaxed Jim’s nephew into posing during the formals by letting him take a photo with the big camera first.
The reception was in a beautiful paneled hall with views of the bay. Toasts were made. Cake was cut. Angela and Jim shared their first dance as husband and wife.
Then all the ladies got their dance on.
